Recent Project: The Perfect Outdoor Retreat

Here’s a look at our recent home renovation project we completed: the perfect outdoor retreat!
Our client wanted to turn their 20’x20’ backyard deck into their closed in outdoor oasis.
Here’s the deck before the project started:
We removed existing frame, rot free decking and vinyl handrail.
The next step was to install new pressure treated framing and posts.
The new decking we installed was Trex decking, which is a high-performance composite decking designed with lasting beauty, incredible durability and easy maintenance. This was a perfect choice for the client’s outdoor retreat.
New aluminum railings, with white top and bottom rails with black spindles were added.
In the new 20’ x 20’ enclosed porch, the cozy and warm feel was created by building a beautiful tongue and groove ceiling with exposed beams and stained deck boards.
The design of this attractive four-session porch included a new gas fireplace with stone surround and a decorative wooden shelf, new up lighting and wall sconces, new glass/screen system in black, and new Azek, rot free, white trims throughout.
The ceiling has a new fan that can be controlled via phone and can spin in opposite direction to pull the fireplace heat down from the ceiling.
Also, for added protection, we installed new Andersen storm doors in black – one single door and one double door.
We removed a section of vinyl siding and installed new stone façade and closed in the space under the porch for storage. The new black metal roof was nicely contrasted with white downspouts and gutters.
And, to create the spa-like retreat, a new recessed hot tub was installed.
Overall, the new structure is a maintenance free space because of the materials used to be enjoyed during all seasons if desired.
After about [insert time it took] of renovation, the house got a brand-new outdoor space with an inviting retreat feel to it. Our team of expert deck designers and deck builders turned the old deck into a space that is much more aligned with and supports this family’s lifestyle and preferences.
